“When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand.” (Henri Nouwen)

a hurry prayer...

Oh God.
I am always in a hurry.
Except for the precious moments I take to breathe and meditate.
But then,
I start to hurry,
packing in more than I really ought to try to finish or get done,
and then I end up feeling
like I didn't get anything done.

I know this is a first-world, time-management kind of prayer, and in the midst of the rest of the concerns and cares of the world,  well, I know...

But it's the prayer I have for this moment, and all I am really asking is for your still silence and spirit to slow me down in my hurried-ness to get things done,
and to simply just Be, breathe, and live my thoughts and actions with mindfulness and care.
I think it is called Presence.
Amen.
